Principal Application Developer - ERP Systems
Location: Oakland, CA (Onsite)
Salary Range: $119,337 - $179,006 per year

Position Summary
The Principal Application Developer - Enterprise Systems serves as a senior technical leader responsible for the design, development, enhancement, and stability of the enterprise applications. The initial focus will be on ERP and Finance platforms, with future expansion into clinical and operational systems such as eClinicWork.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role that requires deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capability to collaborate across Finance, HR, Clinical Operations, IT, and external vendors. As the application team expands, this position is expected to evolve into broader technical leadership, including application architecture guidance and potential people/vendor management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Application Leadership
- Partner with Finance, HR, Clinical, Operations, Business Analysts, and IT teams to translate business needs into scalable technical implementations.
- Lead configuration, enhancement, customization, and minor development for ERP and enterprise applications.
- Implement advanced workflow improvements and ensure adherence to approved development standards.
Integrations & Systems Connectivity
- Support and execute integrations with EMR, CRM, banking systems, and third-party platforms.
- Collaborate closely with the Application & Integration Platform team to validate integration accuracy, security, and performance.
System Reliability & Technical Issue Resolution
- Continuously monitor performance, troubleshoot complex application issues, and implement system optimizations.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for high-priority application incidents.
Architecture & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Participate in application design discussions with platform, integration, and data teams.
- Maintain a holistic understanding of system dependencies, data flows, and integration points.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure enterprise applications comply with healthcare regulations, internal controls, and security standards.
- Identify, address, and mitigate risks related to data integrity, access management, and system stability.
Documentation & Team Enablement
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including system configurations and integration workflows.
- Provide mentorship, training, and knowledge transfer to application engineers and support teams.
- Promote effective platform usage and adoption among stakeholders.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance Systems, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in enterprise application development, configuration, or advanced application support.
- Proven ownership of complex enterprise systems in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
- Demonstrated success collaborating with business users, vendors, and cross-functional technical teams.
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with ERP and enterprise financial systems.
- Hands-on configuration, customization, troubleshooting, and workflow optimization.
- Working knowledge of SQL and scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or similar cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR).
- Strong analytical ability to assess complex, interconnected systems.
- Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
